Double Dose of Twins ~ Livonia Twin Photographer

August 30th, 2013

A few weeks back I had not one, but two twin sessions, in the same week, both girls!  What are the chances of that?  Thinking about it now, why didn’t I play PowerBall?  If you’ve been a newborn client you know, sometimes they can be fast, and sometimes they can be, well…..so long that whomever is watching my own children during the session think that I’ve been kidnapped by the family.  So taking on newborn twins is always a gamble.  I’m happy to report Miss R and Miss E were perfect little newborns.  They both slept for group shots, and cooperated for their solo pictures as well.  Though as you can see, I had one that wanted sleeping shots, and one that wanted to be WIDE awake and show her pretty eyes!

I can’t wait to come back and photograph the girls and watch their friendship grow :)

Twins! Dose One ~ Plymouth Twin Photographer

August 13th, 2013

I don’t get twins very often, but I do get them from time to time.  Imagine my surprise when two weeks ago I had not one, but two sessions of twins; both girls, and both mom’s named Stephanie!  What are the chances?

I started off twin week with these two sweet little girls.  It’s amazing as a mom how quickly you forget about how much work a toddler session can be.  Well take that a multiply it by two :)  I think these sweet little angels had mom, grandma and I earning our keep during the session.  But the result was some amazing images!

N gets ready for her big day ~ Canton First Communion Portraits, Canton Children’s Photographer

May 3rd, 2013

N’s mom asked me at the Lungevity fundraiser if I did First Communion sessions.  Not one to turn down a new experience I said of course.  Normally, as you know, my sessions are done on location in a fun, playful manner.  First Communion photos brought about the challenge of shooting someone who looks like a mini bride (I don’t do weddings, more from the bridezilla and time aspect), and in a much more formal setting.

N was the absolute most perfect client for stepping outside my norm.  First of all, she was 7 (now 8), and a very silly girl.  She was willing to do and pose however I asked her like a pro!  She managed to give me some lovely test shots loaded with goofiness and sass.  But when it was time to get down to shooting the pictures, she could turn it on!  Such a beautiful girl!

T family, I can’t wait to do a session with all the girls this fall!

Meet Miss C. ~ Canton Newborn Photographer

May 3rd, 2013

I’ll admit it!  I suck!  I’ve been doing a horrible job keeping up with my blog, my twitter, my business facebook page, times that by two (since there’s Seniorology as well), add in tax season, a lovely daughter in dance (tap, jazz and ballet) , as well as travel soccer, Go Northville Rush U8 Nike Girls, and a son taking skating soon to be hockey lessons, oh yeah and teaching the lovely middle schoolers everyday……<exhale> something gets neglected.  Though I’m sure what I just typed most moms are nodding along with, right there with me.

With that said, meet Miss C.  I’ve shot her lovely brother B since he was a newborn himself.  So when mom (who happens to be Maddie’s dance teacher) spilled the beans she was preggo, and later it was a girl, I was so thrilled for her and to do this session.  Now I have to add, I’ve had a glimpse into “dance moms” via the show “Dance Moms”.  And Maddie is BEGGING me to be on Ms. Melissa’s team (shameless plug….The Dance Connection).  But I had no idea how excited dance moms get for a new baby, especially a girl, who happens to be the daughter of the studio owner.  Miss C at 1 week old already had probably 100 different hair bows and diaper covers.  And while it’s so not my style to embrace the gigantic flower head bands, I did make an exception for Miss C because the outfit was in the dance studio’s colors.

I can’t WAIT to watch Miss C grow up along with her big brother B.

I Shot Someone in Detroit – Rookie Workshop ~ Detroit Photography Workshop

April 5th, 2013

Some of you know, and some of you have even modeled for my ISSID (I Shot Someone in Detroit) workshops.  I’m asked every year if I would open it up to those on a more basic level, for those looking to learn more about their camera, or just starting off.  And this year I’ve decided to do just that!

The workshop is meant for those new to the business, wanting to look at starting a business, or struggling with a business.  However, those wanting to learn more about their camera can also attend.

I’ll spare all the details here on my blog and just tell you to head on over to the workshop blog for more information 😉

Mini Sessions for LUNGevity ~ Canton Children’s Photographer

March 19th, 2013

One of my favorite long standing clients (who happens to be Maddie’s dance teacher), lost her mom last summer to lung cancer.  The dance studio picks a charity to fund-raise for every year.  This year they will be raising money for LUNGevity and I will be there to help the cause.  You do not have to be a dancer at The Dance Connection, or a dancer at all.  And if you’re looking for something more then 10 minutes, I will be donating portions from simple and signature sessions booked this day as well.  Please stop by!  There will be so many home business vendors as well!

Mr. F ~ A heartbreaker with the college ladies ~ Ann Arbor Child Photographer

October 22nd, 2012

I got to meet F and his family this fall.  He was so excited that he was turning 4 and just had his party the day before.  I have to say, I am a sucker for blue eyes (sorry to my brown eye husband and brown eye son).  So immediately F melted me with his amazing blue eyes and big smiles.  His excitement and happiness was infectious.  We did F’s session on Michigan’s campus and quickly discovered it was sorority bid day.  F managed to stop probably 50+ college girls who could not get over how cute he was and how cute the whole family was.  I totally agree!  By the end of F’s session, he was holding my hand and asking me to move in his house.  I love the connect formed with my clients :)  F and family, I had a blast!  I hope we get to do it again soon!  And mom and dad, you’ve got a ladies man on your hands!

Fall means the M Family! ~ Northville, Canton, Plymouth Child Photographer

October 17th, 2012

Fall brings with it temperature changes, pretty colors, and some of my favorite clients yearly sessions.  Now Mr. B here, well I’ve been his personal paparazzi since he was born.  And mom, she’s Maddie’s dance teacher so I see her now every week (shameless plug for her wonder studio, The Dance Connection).  Dad, well he’s a Michigan fan, though I’ll admit those three years we’d all like to forget (aka the Rich Rod era) has mellowed the man.  And there’s one more….you can’t see her, but she’ll be here in January, and likely subjected to the same paparazzi experience as her older brother 😉  I love that our sessions are so laid back, filled with chatter, and laughs and they are up to almost anything (dad wasn’t too fond of some of the couple nude maternity images I joked about doing with him).  Okay enough chatter, on with the pretty pictures :)

Archive Sale – Birmingham Child Photographer

October 10th, 2012

Have you always wanted to buy the disc, but just didn’t at your session?  Would you like to know all those precious photos from your past session can be yours forever?  Did you wish you could add photos from your session to your family scrapbooks, or facebook?  Looking for a great (and easy) present for grandparents this season?

I am offering for a very limited time, the opportunity to buy the files from your 2006-2010 sessions before I delete them fully from all my storage areas and backup.  The more sessions you’ve had and buy, the cheaper the discs become!  A reproduction release will be included as well as lab recommendations for printing.

I can’t promise all sessions are still archived, but I’m happy to check if you are interested!  Contact me before October 31st when the offer goes away (along with your files….save the poor files).  Because of the nature of “rehosting” a session, only full session discs are available.  Email me ASAP!
